DARK AND BROODING ALE
JW Lees Stout is a dark and brooding ale. It’s velvety-smooth and creamy, with decadent chocolate tones and a hoppy twist. Each sip contains layers of rich cocoa and deep-roasted malt with a luscious, bitter-sweet finish, all set off by one of the finest local ingredients: northern rain.
THE STORY OF STOUT...
The Northern skies, have inspired some of the greatest Manchester artists, from Lowry to Morrissey to our brewing team. Dark and moody, JW Lees Stout takes inspiration from the same sullen skies. Textured and opaque dark brown colour with a frothy head, Stout has a look to match its signature flavour. Its smouldering good looks come from deep-roasted malt.
It certainly is dark, bold, and beautiful. Perhaps the sweeter flavours or the absence of bitterness typically associated with hops make our Stout more accessible. Leonardo da Vinci reputedly said, “Once you have tasted the taste of sky, you will forever look up”. But whether he did or didn’t, let’s not let facts get in the way of a good story. Don’t let anything get in the way of a pint of JW Lees Stout.
