Run Your Own Pub

Why Run a JW Lees Pub?

JW Lees’ estate of 87 Pub Partner sites comprises a wonderful variety of pubs, ranging from cosy community boozers to destination dining pubs complete with beer gardens and function spaces, and everything in between.

Pubs matter; they are a place to meet with friends and unite families on special occasions. A place in the heart of the community. A place like no other and a business like no other.

As a JW Lees licensee, you’ll be doing something you love every day for the community you care most about. You’ll have the freedom of running your own business and all the rewards that come with that, with the comfort of being part of the JW Lees family. The best of both worlds!

We’re a family business and like all families, there is a wealth of support. We offer a dedicated Business Development Manager who will become your primary contact, main advisor and greatest supporter. They will work with a variety of teams at Greengate Brewery to enable your success. We have everything from Customer Services to Training to Marketing, all designed to help you make the most of your business.

OUR PUB AGREEMENTS

JW Lees offer two distinct pub agreements.

Our PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT is like a traditional tenancy whereby our Pub Partner pays a rent and runs the pub as their own business, with full autonomy over the retail offer. We offer two versions of the Partnership Agreement to ensure maximum flexibility for you.

Our RETAIL AGREEMENT is more akin to a franchise, whereby JW Lees stipulate the retail offer and the Retail Operator provides the human resource that makes it all happen and in return receives a commission as their fee.

JW Lees are signatories to the Pub Governing body voluntary code of practice which applies to all of our Partnership agreements. The code of practice can be viewed here Code of Practice

Our Support

Our dedicated teams are there to ensure you receive the right support at the right time, from getting your first beer delivery, to setting up your utility contracts, to marketing your weekly entertainment programme. Our Business Development Managers have relatively small numbers of pubs to look after, so they can spend more time in helping you to achieve your goals.
