At one time, breweries often reserved their extra special bitter for the directors or the Chairman. But we think everyone should enjoy a pint of the extra good stuff. Named in honour of our founder, the good John Lees, our recipe uses ale and crystal malts, and Magnum hops. The result is a beer with nothing held back. Stronger than our traditional bitter, with a thicker mouthfeel, fit for the good John Lees—a man of strong intention, a pioneer, and a man of invention.
